Duncanville track and field was good last year.

The D'Ville boys took second place at the 2023 UIL 6A Track and Field Championships. Everyone in the country knows they have the speed again this season as they have run consistently fast this year and dropped a US No. 2 all-time performance.

Many may not remember that the D'Ville girls were pretty darn good last year as well. They are the reigning defending state team champions as they racked up enough points with their three sprint relays.

Both Panther teams put themselves in good position today as they both won two relays at the UIL Region 2-6A Championships with second place finishes in a third relay.

The Duncanville girls won the 4x100 relay with a time of 45.91, just 0.02 ahead of the defending state champions Klein Forest and their 45.93.

On the boys side, a day after six teams went sub 41-seconds, it was Duncanville who won the 4x100 relay as well with a time of 40.53. Mansfield finished the race in a flurry with a time of 41.54 for second.

The second Duncanville girls win came in the 4x400 relay. The Panthers carried the top time from the prelims into the finals and that played true for the finals.

Their winning time of 3:45.36 was another narrow win over the powerful Klein Forest squad who was second in 3:46.45.

They were second in the 4x200 relay behind DeSoto.

The boys 4x200 relay hasn't been the strongest this season based on results standing.

That was until today as they proved their worth on the worst days to sprint since February.

A new US No. 1 and tied for the fifth best US all-time performance with their 1:23.42. They topped the previous TX No. 1 ranked The Woodlands who still turned in a 1:23.76.

They were second to The Woodlands in the 4x400 relay.
