| Coach Smith has done a tremendous job of building a state powerhouse at Del Rio. In the last 10 years they have | |
| accumulated 7 State Meet appearances and 3 Regional Championships. They have been a Region IV powerhouse | |
| for awhile. This years team looks solid. They only lost 2 Seniors from a 7th place State Meet finish last year. | |
| They return Daniel Bermea who was the top Freshman from last years state meet. | |
| They also return Paul Delgado who was their top running last year. We really won't know how strong they | |
| are til the UTSA Meet in September. | |
