McNeil Invitational Meet Recap

October 05, 2013 @ Old Settler's Park in Round Rock, TX

McNeil Invitational

Results

All eyes were in Round Rock today at McNeil hosted its annual Invitational which is traditionally held on the State Meet Course. This years race was highlighted by a course change from years past. The course might of changed but the talented athletes running did not as this year hosted some of the best runners in Texas. The Boys Gold battle was a classic race. With 10 boys in contention with 1000m to go. It was not til late did Chris Meyers edge out Jose Uribe for the title. The race had the top 8 finish within 9 seconds of each other. I love to see those type of races. Chris has quietly been racing well this year also winning at the Region IV preview Meet at UTSA. #5 El Paso Eastwood dominated the team battle with their top 5 in the top 35 averaging 16:20 with only a :45 split.
