PREVIEW

Region I-5A is loaded. Austen Dalquist is the favorite with the fastest time by over 10 seconds but the next qualifying spot is up for grabs. Connor Hendrickson is coming on strong in the last couple of weeks running a season best time of 9:12 in the area meet. Erik Wingfield has raced Connor 3 times this year with Connor winning twice. Eli Canal is also running 2ub 9:20.  Eli beat Erik at Texas Relays but has lost to him at both district and area. Brian Casillas, Zach Hamstra, adn David Strome could also have a shot. This one is too close to call.

PREVIEW

Brad Dohner and Connor Meaux are the out right favorites in this region. Dohner ran a season best last week while Meaux was only a couple of seconds off his season best meaning both should be in peak shape going into the battle this weekend. I can’t count out Bell and Hollifeld as they ran fast last weekend also

PREVIEW

This one is interesting with the return of Frank Lara. Frank has been not racing most of the season and is making an impressive comeback running a season best 9:33 placing 2nd to teammate Ammons who won in a season best time of 9:27. Roderick Bell comes in with the 2nd season best time of 9:30 so he is in contention.  I like Frank Lara to win this as he seems to be getting into shape at the right time of the year.

PREVIEW

I am so excited to see Region 4-5A make a comeback. They have been traditional the weakest region over the last 10 or so years but this year they look very strong and deep. Michael Guerrero comes in with the fastest area time in 9:26 but Chris Meyers who ran a 9:13 at Texas Relays. Alex Rogers has ran sub 9:20 also at Texas Relays and Juan Uribe ran a 9:19 aso this year.  Head to Head some of the top runners went head to head at Texas Relays with the order going Chris Meyers, Alex Rogers, Juan Urbe, Michael Guerrero.
