Devin Clark continues to maintain her dominance in the state of Texas this fall as she defeated one of the deepest fields that she will see prior to the state meet on the actual state meet course in Round Rock on Saturday at the McNeil Invitational. The Smithson Valley junior was able to pull away from a deep field which saw 5 girls dip under 18 minutes for 5K on the Old Settler's Park 5K course led by the winner Clark in a 17:10 PR performance. Alamo Heights junior Abby Gray had a breakthrough race to grab second and knock 26 seconds off her previous PR for second place.

The Kingwood girls led by sixth place finisher Abby Guidry (18:03) had a much tighter pack (1:23) for their top five than Devin Clark's Smithson Valley squad (3:02) to allow them to walk away with the gold division team title by 46 points with a team average of 19:00 at the McNeil Invite.

Alex Rogers of New Braunfels Canyon won the boys race in 15:12 to run away from a pack of runners in the 15:30's to lead his team to a landside victory as well with their team score of 117 points putting them well ahead of the runners-up from Georgetown with 260 points posting a team average of 16:02 at Old Settler's Park
