Paulo Benavides Breaks PV National Record! Watch him clear 17'11

Paulo Benavides has been vaulting lights out the past few weeks! After clearing 17'3" to start out his season well, he has been on fire! Blowing past his PR in the event, and now he has set the new boys indoor HS NATIONAL RECORD. The previous mark of 17'10.25" set last year by Devin King went down merely hours earlier when Deakin Volz impressively cleared 17'10.5". That mark couldn't stand for a full day as Benavides has now cemented himself in the history books as one of the greatest high school pole vaulters of all time!

After all the hype over possible National Records being broken on the track indoors this year in the northeast, the rest of the country may have overlooked his Near Miss/Near Make at 17'10.5 less than a week ago that clearly showed his potential to clear that height and much more. Big thanks to Raul Lawrence for providing video footage of Paulo's historic achievement.
