Stars Align For Miller,London,Rogers At Meet Of Champions

On Saturday some of the best athletes in the nation gathered in Waco for the inaugural TTFCA Meet of Champions. Giving a final opportunity for the best Texas athletes regardless of League or Division to face off.

Three notable athletes who toed the line were Aaliyah Miller, Wil London, and Alex Rogers.

Miller has run a triple in every meet for weeks, only putting enough effort into the 800m to win. The Meet of Champions now giving her the opportunity to focus on this event. She did not dissapoint, going out under 60s and then coming through in 2:05.94! That time a new personal best, US #2 and TX #2 ALL TIME!

Wil London didn't have the race he hoped for at State, and responded in the best way possible. The conditions on Saturday were far from ideal with multiple weather delays and constant rain through all the races. It was in these conditions that London put together the best race of his career dropping a US #3 45.96! And to make it better, his dad, who has been a Track Official at Baylor for 20 years was waiting right at the line to share the moment with him!

A good way for London to wrap up his senior year and in his first race on his future home track. The Waco senior will run for the Baylor Bears in 2016. He'll continue to run summer track in Texas in the coming months, so keep an eye out for more fast quarters from the rising star.

UT commit Alex Rogers is another athlete who doubles in almost all his meets. Running the 3200m either the morning of, or day before he gets to run the 1600m. He finally lined up JUST for the 1600m Saturday night. He went out with his usually pace setting, coming through the 1st laps on the same pace he always does for his 4 lap races.

The big difference here in the final 600m he didn't have to deal with the fatigue of a 3200m in his legs. Rogers powered through the line in a PR US #6 4:08! The first TX athlete under 4:10 in 2015. Proving he's in good form as he looks ahead to some post season championship meets.
