Isaiah Lucas Flies To World Lead!

The first Texan to hit the track today was Julia Heymach. After hitting qualifying marks in both the 800m & 1500m, Heymach is focusing on the 1500m in Colombia.

The 2 time state champ and TX 1600m State Record holder represented Team USA well in the prelims. Heymach finished 6th in her heat, running a PR 4:21.91!

While the top-4 in each heat auto qualified, heat 2 was significantly faster and Heymach moved on with the 6th fastest overall time in the prelims.

After Alexis Duncan took over the World Youth Lead yesterday, Isaiah Lucas hits the track and repeats that feat, tying the World Best 13.44 to crush his prelim heat! Right behind him is Norman Grimes, who also won his heat in a 4th fastest overall time of 13.62

The two hurdlers are 2014 State Champs in separate divisions, and have very impressive resumes from this outdoor season. Now they have a very solid chance to make the podium together at a World Championship!

Right before her heat began, an athlete ran 13.11 to take away the world lead from Alexis Duncan. How did she respond? By setting a new world lead AGIN!! Breaking 13s in 12.95! Not only is she the world leader, but now moves up to World Youth #2 ALL TIME! She's in good company, moving ahead of Dior Hall! 12.95 now a new 30" 100H AMERICAN RECORD!
