Top Football Recruits Who Compete in Track and Field

I took the top-20 (or max) recruits by position from the 2016 ESPN 300 Football Recruit Rankings, then cross referenced all 303 athletes with the MileSplit database to see how many of the top recruits across the country compete in track and field.

Just over 35% of the list are also T&F athletes. The position breakdown is displayed in the graph below. Not surprising to see the Janikowskis/Mannings of high school football holding the lowest percentages.

Follow the links below to see the Top-20 recruits by each position with the top track&field marks for the athletes who have performances in the MileSplit Database.

CB - DE - DT - FB - ILB - K - OC - OG - OLB - OT - QB DT - QB PP - RBS - TE H - TE Y - WR

Not surprising to see the top football recruits having success on the track. Watch below as Baylor WR commit Devin Duvernay runs a wind legal 10.27 to win the 2015 Texas State Meet 100m. That time is #2 for all returners.

On top of his individually impressive races, Duvernay anchored some crazy relays including a 40.28 for his club squad at the Games of Texas over the summer!
