Marcus I meet had many big names and big surprises. Unlike the boys race the girls race brought more questions than answers. The answer we did get was from Tara Upshaw. The senior from Southlake was in excellent form winning the girls 5A race impressively with an 11:10. It was 10 seconds over Region I rival Kim Kirby who ran 2nd with an 11:20. Right behind Kirby was Bailey Belvis (Prosper).
Footlocker Finalist Chelsey Sveinsson continued her winning ways with a 5 second come from behind victory over Melanie Wilcox in the 3A-Under race. Chelsey went out in the first mile in 5:45 and got the second mile in 6:03 to win in a time of 11:48.
There were many questions on who would be the team contenders. Well, the timing companies have not released resutls by division yet so there are still questions. I went ahead and combined all of the results in one file to take a look at how it would played out it they had raced in one big race.
