Last season was an awesome season for jumpers. There was an unprecedented number of elite level marks. Some of those top jumpers graduated. However, many of them were freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. There is a new track and field season on the horizon, that will see the top fifty returning jumpers all jumped 37-8 or better. This season, there may be a chase for the long standing state record and there will be total chaos when it comes to qualifying for State.
What will the 2017 season bring? As of now, who knows? What we do know is that this returning cast is very good. Thirty eight girls return who have jumped over 38 feet and a crazy amount of 11 girls who have jumped over 40 feet. Is the State meet record in Jeopardy? What will it take to make it to State? What will it take to win the 2017 State title? We will just have to sit back and enjoy the 2017 girls triple jump season.
