Reed Brown Wins the 6A 3200m With a Close Finish

Reed Brown's post 3200m race interview

All year long, Reed Brown and Alex Maier have been competing for the #1 spot in Texas. Today, Reed Brown won the 6A 3200m at the UIL State meet beating Alex Maier by .83 seconds. Today was the last Texas UIL 3200m Brown will race wearing his Southlake Carroll uniform.

"During the middle, I wasn't feeling too good" Reed said, "which kinda lead to an all out kick at the end."

Brown knew from the middle of the race, he wasn't going to break his previous state record, so he just ran to outkick everyone and win another gold. Brown will look to run sub 4 in the 1600m aginst Texas commit and 6A rival Sam Worley tomorrow at 8:45 pm.

Both guys had a close finish earlier this season in the true mile at the Texas Relays. Worley ran 4:00.61 while Brown ran 4:03.23.
