State Championship Girls 3-A Preview

Why: Three-peat? Well, at least that's what the East Bernard girls are saying. This strong team is once again strong and returning Jessica Rabius, the 2015 state individual champion who was missing due to injury and didn't get to contribute to last year's championship team. Coming off its Region 3 Championship win in which they dominated, they are definitely going for another win. Their big challenge will once again come from Eustace. In 2015, Eustace took third place, they were second last year, and this year they will look to climb one more step up the awards stand for the top spot.

East Bernard is coming in with a 12:23 team average and a 45 second split from the Region III meet. Eustace isn't too far behind as they have a 12:44 team average and they also have a 45 second split.

Individuals: Rabbius will look to return to the winning was from her sophomore season. She leads 3A girls with a 11:55 season best and is the only girl under twelve flat. There are three girls who could still challenge for the top spot. Blanco junior Johanna Villarreal comes in with a 12:13, Wallis Brazos senior
Chandler Krueger has a 12:14.90, and Eustace sophomore Sabrina Davis' 12:15.02 puts all three of those ladies in close contention for an individual state title.
