The Highlanders might just have more fun this year than any of the most recent years just because many people in the state are counting them out.
If you don't know who Mr. Cardinal is then take this as your warning. We start him out at #35 preseason when the truth is that he is probably better than that and will surely out perform this prediction unless he gets ran over by a reindeer or something crazy like that.
Last year, Cardinal didn't run many varsity cross country meets because he just didn't crack the Highlander depth chart, but he played his part and now it's his turn. During track season, he tried to let the state know he was coming and now his time is here. He ran a 15:52.56 PR at district (Yes, it's a true 5K) in the JV race and then he followed that up with a 4:27.54 and a 9:17.65 during track season.
