Morris is yet another member of the boys stud 2021 class. He is also part of the crazy good UIL 5A class of runners. He began the season coming off of his third place finish at the 5A cross country state championships in his freshman year. A 15:06.10 at the Southlake Carroll Invitational in his first meet was a good indication that his fitness was pretty darn good and that it would be a good year.
A good year it was as he continued to run fast throughout the year leading to his UIL 5A - Region 1 showdown with Abeyeta. That matchup resulted in a 14:42.32 3 mile win, which was a preluede two round two at state between Morris and Abeyta. Morris would out kick Abeyta for the second straight meet for the 5A title in a 14:58.90 true 5K PR.
As a freshman, Morris qualified for the Foot Locker Nationals as he placed 34th. The 2017 version of Morris was on fire so much that he ran to an outstanding runner-up finish at Foot Locker Nationals with a 15:23.30 performance. That led to an invitation to run internationally at Great Edinburgh XCountry in Edinburgh, Scotland where he represented Team USA. Morris continued to impress s he ran 19:47 for the 6K for an eighth place finish.
Morris' track season produced more imprssive running. He ran 4:15.40 for a state title in the 1600m, 9:08.84 in the 3200m for a Texas Relays win, and 9:14.95 for state title.
