Both the Sam Houston State men's and women's cross country squads finished third in the team standings at the Sam Houston Cross Country Invitational.

Patrick Krol led the Bearkat men with a 9th place individual finish, posting a time of 20:43.

Houston Baptist won the men's race with 44 points. Texas A&M was the runnerup with 60 points. Sam Houston totaled 78 points. A total of 12 teams participated in the University men's race.

North Texas won the women's race followed by Texas A&M and Sam Houston. The Eagles posted a winning team total of 44 points. The Aggies scored 63 and Sam Houston totaled 72.

Victoria Gemeny was the top Bearkat women's runner with a time of 19:23.
