Ivory Williams graduate of Beaumont Central won the IAAF World Junior Championship 100m. Ivory is the 4A State Champion in the 100/200. He was undefeated in Texas in 2004. He suffered his first lost of the season by placing second to USA World Junior teammate Demi Omole. Ivory won his first heat handedly in 10.41. Ivory ran his season best of 10.30 to win his semifinal heat. Ivory had the third best time in the semifinals. Demi Omole (USA) and Daniel Bailey (ANT) ran 10.19 in their semifinal heats. Ivory got at great start in the finals and won with a season best 10.29. \"I got out to a good start,\" said Williams. \"Demi and I were the first out of the blocks. I just kept my knees up. I am very excited to win my first world title,\" Williams continued. Ivory is headed to the University of Houston.
