Lindblom's Little Has Big Plans At Texas A&M

When you are a five-time state champion like Lindblom's Shamier Little the choice of colleges you can pick from are plentiful. She visited the University of Tennesseee, Texas A&M, South Carolina, and the University of Alabama. She says the process wasn't as hectic as she thought it would be, but the hardest point was having to tell coaches at the end she would not be attending their school.

The school she did settle in on is one of the best for the track and field programs in the country. Texas A&M finished third at last year's NCAA championships and will welcome with open arms. She says she is looking forward to running in the SEC and dawning the Aggie uniform.

"I'm really looking forward to competing on the next level with the team and getting better with the help of the coaches. They are getting an athlete that is eager to learn more. I'm definitely excited about being an Aggie."

In her 2012 outdoor campaign, Little won titles in the 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash. She finished third in the 200 meter dash. She calls that meet one of the high points of her high school career. When all is said and done she will be one of the most decorated sprinters/hurdlers to come through the state.  It is that drive to be the best, that keeps her hungry for more in 2013.

"My goals are to keep running great times and run them consistently."
