Now that the high school careers of REED BROWN and SAM WORLEY have come to an end, we thought it would be interesting to project how their future collegiate and professional careers could possibly turn out. Of course, there is no absolute way to know that without a crystal ball. However, we did use the careers of professional runners that are similar to both Brown and Worley. Ironically, we chose to use the career of Matthew Centrowitz Jr. to compare to Brown and Leo Manzano's career to compare to Worley.
There are several similarities between Brown and Centrowitz' high school careers. Brown chose the University of Oregon to attend college as Centrowitz Jr. is an Oregon alum. The events, times, and accomplishments are pretty similar between the two. Also, they come from pretty athletic and accomplished families. Both Brown and Centrowitz Jr. have been preceded by professional athletes in their families.
There are also similarities with Worley and Manzano. Worley chose to attend the University of Texas after high school just as Manzano is a UT alum. Both guys competed in the same events and had elite times before they were upperclassmen. Worley won four individual Texas state titles and Manzano won a whopping nine Texas state titles.
