Beginning Monday, teams all across the state will run in their district meets. At districts, teams will have to finish in the top three and individual runners will have to finish in the top 10 in order to continue their 2017 cross country seasons.

Next Saturday, District 5-6A will run at North Lakes Park in Denton. On the girls side, four of the top 10 teams in the state will battle it out for those three qualifying spots. According to our database, only four and a half points separate first through fourth place. This is what cross country is all about, unfortunately, it means one team who has a real shot to win state will have their season come to an end.

On the boys side, it's a similar story. The top two teams are #1 and #2 in the state and have a good chance to win a title They are separated by only five points. The final spot is only separated by twelve points in our database. The third and final qualifying spot could be a big time fight as 12 points separate two teams.

Check out the scores in the virtual meet to see how our database shows things could play out.
