The Louden Valley (VA) Boys XC team runs 4x400 and almost win
Cross season is officially in the books, but that doesn't mean the cross country kids aren't looking forward to the upcoming track season.
We bring you the top returning boys and girls milers with the fastest 400m times on the books. This will show who you might not want hanging around you on the last lap of the 1600m. Their 400m times give insight to what their leg speed looks like and how much distance you might want to create heading into the last 400 - 200m of the race.
In the above video, the Loudoun Valley boys XC team are one of the best in the nation. Coming fresh off of the Nike Cross Nationals Championships just seven days earlier, they competed in this weekend's GHS Pre-Holiday Invite indoor track meet in Virginia. Their top dawg Sam Affolder who ran a 14:58 5K last weekend competed in three events this weekend. Affolder went for a 4:11 in the 1600m, a 2:30 in the 1K and a 51.8 split in the 4x400 in which four of their cross guy ran the four legs and miss a near victory over sprinters.
