The junior Class is full of top level talent on both the girls and boys side. It has several girls and boys who are state champions and several more who could become state champions over the next two years.
The times listed on the next two pages show the fastest times of each athlete's freshman and sophomore years along with the difference from the two years.
There are 30 girls returning from the junior class that ran under 19:00 last season, including London Culbreath's sub 17s each of her first two seasons. Many of the girls saw big time improvements from season to season, for example, the 1:11.50 jump made by Northwest Nelson's Cassidy Teuscher and the 1:53.20 difference by Christina Sancho-Spore of Tomball Memorial.
On the boys side, there are 26 who ran 16:00 or faster last year. You can see how fast and consistent Graydon Morris was with sub 15s each season for Aledo. Progression wise, the boys saw huge jumps from Jarrett Kirk as he nearly dropped an insane two minutes from freshman to sophomore year and helped Flower Mound earn it's way to NXN. Eric Lara of Houston Strake Jesuit and Elias Perez of El Paso Eastwood also dropped over a minute and a half between the seasons.
