    First of all:

    Why can;t this thread just die... for everyone's sake.

    Secondly,

    There is definately a sprint program.
    Even a thrower's program believe it or not.

    It is almost scary how well the PAAVO program seems to be working now. Years ago in this thread many people used sarcasm to say how PAAVO was a weird fad and that SLC doesn't dominate The Woodlands so it can't be that great of a method. Oh how the tables have turned.

    @Matthews Great accomplishment, but you are confusing typical performance fluctuations with one program being better than another. So does this throw out the last 6 years for The Woodlands? Both of those programs have a lot going for them.

    @Matthews

    It's not so much the the running program, but rather, the coaching individuals receive.

    Of course there are a number of other factors (area, number of students, how many run, etc.), but it's up to the coach to oversee a successful program.

    There are thousands of runners who enter college, so of course we are bound to see many failures from all kinds of program (whether you follow PAAVO, Lydiard, or whatever). Only a select few individuals can achieve the highest success.
