I teach 4th & 5th grade PE at my old elementary school, I had 2 fourth graders well over 65 beeps. I'd anticipate any runner could take the pacer further. I want to try, but my school is doing the mile. Any idea how they chose one or the other? Time management? [Probably because we have 2200 kids to test haha.]

    Pacer test. Basically.

Beep. Run. Make it to the end of the basketball court. Jog In place. Beep. Run back, repeat. If you don't make it to the end of the basketball court before the beep, that is one strike. If you get three strikes, you have to stop.

I got into the 80s when I did it in elementary school and they had me stop because it was taking too long.

Maybe 80s was over exaggerating, but they did have me stop because it was taking too long. We used to run a mile once a week then and they would hand us popsicle sticks for every lap around the school we did. I used to run by people and hold up my popsicle sticks.... not a lot of people liked me in elementary school.

The same people who made me stop during the pacer test also told me that I shouldn't be too competitive when we played games.
