Realignment Thoughts?

I think you guys have mentioned two totally different courses. This past year they ran the high school meet on the intramural fields because the Waco Dam sight had been burned down, but I think it will be good to go next year.

The South Central Regional meet is held on Cottonwood golf course and I highly doubt they would host a regional high school meet on that course. Too much traffic on a good golf course.

I thought running on is what good golf courses were designed for?

@chansen I think Kansas still hosts their major qualifying/state meets on running..er..golf courses..

Great course, but I'm pretty sure they built a building over the parking or something else that made it difficult to host a large meet there.

alright.. you guys tell me what EXACTLY you want on a course, and i will get it built. parking. concession. all that. but it must host either a regional, state, or national meet

lord knows we have enough land up here that isnt being used.

welcome to west texas in november. 70 one day, 10 the next. wind, snow, rain (rain? who am i kidding. no rain). it could be flat, or hilly, or both.

Myers Park has the parking and the challenging course...the space might be a concern but we could lay out the course differently...we don't have to run the same layout as has been run in the past. I think the limitations to the location is access in/out as I think it is only 2 lanes any way you go. Proximity to hotels would be another concern...Ideas anyone?

? Are we talking about the same course? Myers park as in where the McKinney Boyd Invitational is? If so, Myers Park would not nearly have enough parking for a Region meet, maybe by that one barn, but the road being two lane will be a huge bottleneck. Two, that course has so many holes in it, especially if it rains. People will be breaking there ankles. Also the course as is is to narrow for a Region meet, and the "park" as a whole doesn't have enough space to put all the tents for the teams unless they will be scattered all over the place. I just don't think that course is suitable for a Region meet, the dirt will get all torn up and the footing will be awful, and you better pray for it not to rain, otherwise just forget it.
