The athletes and coaches of the Glenda Dawson High School Girls and Boys
Track Team would like to invite your team to the Dawson Eagle Invitational on
Wednesday March 16th 2016.
General Information:
1. UIL rules will govern eligibility and participation. Scoring will be done using the Old National
Federation scoring method of 6 places: 10-8-6-4-2-1 for individual events and 20-16-12-8-4-2
for relay events.
2. There will be a $100 entry fee. Make checks payable to Dawson High School Track.
Please return entry fees to Vincent Hypolite at 2050 Cullen Rd. Pearland, Texas 77581. The
entry fee is $100 for girls and $100for boys ($200 for both teams). Please pay before the
start of the meet!
3. Starting blocks will be furnished.
4. Only spikes or smaller will be allowed on the track and runways.
5. The long jump and triple jump will have 3 preliminary jumps. The top 8 will advance to finals
with for 3 additional jumps. Preliminary jumps will carry over to the finals.
6. The horizontal jumps will have minimum marks
Girls Long 140 Girls Triple 310
Boys Long 190 Boys Triple 400
7. Throwers will have 3 preliminary throws. The top 8 will advance to finals for 3 additional
throws. Preliminary throws will carry over to the finals.
8. NO ADHESIVE TAPE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK OR RUNWAY.
9. The girls high jump will start at 46, boys high jump will start at 58
10. The girls pole vault will start at 70, boys pole vault will start at 100.
11. Awards will be given to the Team Champion and Runner-Up Team. Individual medals will be
given to the first 3 places.
12. All school busses are to be parked on the North Side of the school.
13. The Scratch Meeting will begin at 8:00 AM in the school cafeteria.
14. All entries will be done online at www.directathletics.com. When you log on to the site, type
Glenda Dawson in the search box. Then click on Dawson Invitational. If you have an account,
type in your log-in information and begin. Entries can be added and modified between
November 1, 2015 and March 14, 2016. ALL ENTRIES CLOSE Monday 3/14 AT 3:00 PM
16. *Seating is limited we encourage teams and patrons to bring their chair*
17. *We WILL charge for parking, BUT NOT for individual entry.
