HUMBLE - Jeff Herron, Casie Wilson, Caylin Howell and Jennifer Edwards made sure Austin High will be well-represented in the city of Austin at the state track meet.

The Austin Bulldogs and Needville Blue Jays may not have been as dominant overall as some schools in the Region III, Class 5A and Class 3A track and field championships, but the six Fort Bend County athletes earned their ticket to state Friday and Saturday at Turner Stadium.

Austin sweeps team titles
MISSOURI CITY - After following closely on the heels of the Kempner cross country team for the past few years, Austin finally trumped the Cougars at the District 23-5A meet Friday, sweeping both the girls and boys titles.

The results came as a bit of a shock even to Austin coach Chris Wilson, who said he was surprised at how well his boys team stepped up.
