  • Boys Dream Mile: Ben Saarel (UT) used his fast and furious kick to win the boys mile in 4:02.72.  Henry Wynne (CT) was 2nd in 4:05.04 with a great kick of his own, and Edward Cheserek (NJ) finished 3rd in 4:05.36.  
  • Girls Dream Mile: Wesley Frazier (NC) finally won the big one with a stellar time of 4:39.18.  The Meier twins compeleted the Duke-recruits sweep with Hannah finishing 2nd in 4:40.48 and Haley 3rd in 4:42.11.  
  • Boys Dream 100: Cameron Burrell (TX) completed his like-father-like-son moment by winning in dominating fashion with a time of 10.40 through rainy and windy conditions.  Ceolamar Ways (FL) was 2nd in 10.59 and Elijah Hall-Thompson (FL) finished 3rd in 10.60. 
  • Girls Dream 100: Ky Westbrook (AZ) won a close battle over Marybeth Sant (CO) with times of 11.52 to 11.55.  Kali Davis-White (FL) was 3rd in 11.59.

 

CIF Southern Section Masters, CA

Coverage

Highlights

  • Long Beach Poly (CA) blazed a 44.94 in the 4x100m relay for US#8 All-Time!!  Poly also won the 4x400m relay in a chill 3:47.01.
  • Ariana Washington (Poly) blazed a great double with a 100m victory in 11.27w and a 200m victory in 23.18!
  • Courtney Corrin (Clovis West) won the long jump with a stellar 20-05.25.  
  • Kaitlyn Merritt (Santa Margarita Catholic) won the pole vault with a leap of 13-3 with Gardenia Centanaro (Roosevelt) 2nd in 12-9.
  • Stamatia Scarvelis (Dos Pueblos) won the shot with a US#1 put of 51-9.25.
  • Khalfani Muhammad (Notre Dame) won the boys 100m dash in a time of 10.22w and the 200m dash in 20.73.
  • Miles Parish (Etiwanda) won the boys 400m dash in 47.45.

Highlights

  • Cyre Virgo (Fleetwood) won the girls AAA high jump with a state meet record of 5-11.25.
  • Wellington Zaza (Garnet Valley) won three golds in his final meet, winning the Triple Jump in 49-10.25, the 110H in a fast 13.66 and the 300H in 37.24.
  • Penn Wood girls flew in the AAA 4x400m relay, winning in 3:50.20 over Central Bucks West in 3:50.56.
  • Bensalem won the AAA 4x400m relay in 3:19.73 over Pennridge, 3:19.80.  They also won the 4x800m relay in 7:47.82.
  • Evan Arnott (Schuylkill Valley) won the boys AA discus with a toss of 195-11.

 

MO Class 3-4 State Championships, MO

Jones killed it in the 800m with a 1:50.33 clocking.

3A Highlights

  • Frosh Taylor Werner capped her first year of HS with an impressive showing, winning the 800m run in 2:13.12, the 3200m run in a class record of 10:38.04 and ran on the winning 4x800m relay for Ste. Genevieve in 9:25.45.  
  • Charles Jones (Cardinal Ritter) blasted the boys 800m run with a quick 1:50.33.  

4A Highlights

  • Hannah Long (Eureka) won the 1600m run with a quick time of 4:49.53 and the 800m run with a quick 2:11.06.  
  • Spencer Haik (Glendale) won the boys 1600m run in 4:12.81.  
  • Christian Brothers College won a showdown over Hazelwood Central 3:16.12 to 3:16.94.  
  • The 4x800m relay was also a close race with Rockhurst taking down Marquette 7:49.24 to 7:49.81.  
  • Chris Mooneyham (Glendale) won a stacked 3200m run in 9:06.86 over Colton Rockhold (Truman) in 9:07.08.  Stephen Mugeche (Blue Springs) was 3rd in 9:07.89.  
  • Aaron Mallett (McCluer North) won the 300H with a very fast 36.98 clocking.

 

IHSA State Boys Track and Field Championships, IL

Highlights

  • Jack Keelan St. Ignatius) had a blazing double, winning the 3200m run and 1600m run.  Keelan smoked an 8:57.61 in the 3200m run in a stacked race as Alex Riba was 2nd in 8:59.37.  9 were at 9:10 or under! Keelan then won the 1600m run in a time of 4:12.11.  

 

TN State Track and Field Championships, TN

Highlights

  • Jalen Ramsey (Brentwood Academy) put up a huge US#1 in the long jump, winning with a leap of 25-03.25.
  • Brock Baker (Oakland) rolled in the distance events, winning the 1600m in 4:18.58, the 3200m in fast 9:01.99 clocking and finishing 2nd in the 800m in 1:54.36.  The 3200m was fast as 2nd was Conner Thompson (Oakland) in 9:04.07 and 3rd was Aaron Templeton (Hardin Valley) in 9:09.69.

  • Michael Cherry (Oscar Smith) flew in the 200m dash (21.37) and 400m dash (47.31).
  • Grant Holloway (Grassfield) won the high jump with a leap of 6-11 in a great battle with Steven Dunbar (Tallwood) who was also over 6-11.
  • Andrew Hines (Grassfield) cracked the 60' barrier in the shot with a put of 60-06.
  • Chantel Ray (Hampton) won the 100H in a quick time of 13.84.

  • Felecia Majors (South County) won the 400m dash in 54.74, the pole vault in 12-6 and the triple jump with a 39-2.75 leap.

Highlights

  • Alexa Efraimson won the girls 1600m run with a blazing solo run of 4:39.25 in 4A action and came back to win the 800m run in 2:08.17.
  • Amy Eloise-Neale won the 3A 1600m with a time of 4:44.88 and the 800m run with a swift 2:08.61.  Megan Beauchene (Kamiakin) was 2nd in 4:45.34 and Katie Knight (North Central) was 3rd in 4:45.84.  
  • Katie Knight was the champ in the 3200m run, rolling to a 10:18.22 solo effort.

 

Oregon 4A-6A State Track and Field Championships, OR

Highlights

  • Rachel Proteau (West Albany) cleared a stellar 6-1 in the high jump to win the 5A event in an event and state record clearance.
  • Erin Clark (South Eugene) won the 6A 3000m title with a state record of 9:32.08 after taking over the pacing duties around lap 6.

Highlights

Jake Leingang (Bismarck) ended his senior season in style, winning 3 individual golds and a relay gold.  Jake won the 800m run in 1:57.25, the 1600m run in 4:13.69 and the 3200m run in 9:24.48.  Bismarck also won the 4x800m relay in 8:05.92.
