DENTON-- A muggy morning greeted runners and spectators Saturday morning at Northlake Park in Denton It did not hamper some of the best teams in the Metroplex. Natalie Rathjen (Highland Park) dominated the first race of the day outrunning Alondra Hoyas and Megan Montgomery who are both from Hebron. Natalie 5k course record running a 17:38. She held the previous record she set last year when she ran a 17:59. In the team battle Southlake Carroll showed why they are ranked #1 by the CCCAT. They scored 85 pts over a game Marcus (#3) squad which scored 92. #6 Flower Mound edged #5 Hebron 113-119. Highland Park 4A (#1) finished 5th overall.
The Boys 5A team race was just as exciting as #1 CCCAT ranked Southlake Carroll won with 95 points over a game Hebron squad. Unranked Hebron beat #4 Marcus, #8 Flower Mound and #10 Keller. The Individual race was a closely contested race with Austen Dalquist coming out on top winning in a fast 15:26 over Hamstra and Pickle.
