First Ever UIL-Sponsored Wheelchair events held in the Panhandle

An amendment to the University Interscholastic League Constitution and Contest Rules, passed by the Legislative Council in October 2013, will add wheelchair competition events as a pilot program to the 2014 Track and Field State Meet. This past weekend Canyon High School held the Canyon Invitational.  It included the first ever UIL sponsored wheelchair races in the Texas panhandle.  Laura Pingle (Pampa) and Chris Alvidrez (Dumas) both competed.  Congrats to both athletes and good luck the rest of the season.
