#30: Jayven Cordova - Weslaco East
Initially Cordova was sitting on the outside of the preseason individual rankings. He gave himself a boost after coming off a strong track season. His track rankings are better than some of the top ranked xc athletes, especially in the 1600m. He posted a SB & PR at Texas Relays where he ran 4:19.
Looking back at the 2014 season, Cordova had Top-10 finishes at both District & Region. His Best finish being a 5th place(16:48) at District. He made it to the State Meet for the 1st time last season and recorded a 61st place finish. Heading into his senior year we'll see if he can now work up the cross country rankings after picking up some more speed on the track.
