This weekend we raced at the Birdville Invitational. This was our last regular season meet before district and we were all really excited to see how we would run. Going into the race my plan was to take it out really hard and see how long I can hold the pace. The race didn't go out as hard as I would have liked but I'm starting to see the results from my workouts and that's exciting. I ended up winning the race running 18:21 which isn't my best, but I was still happy with how the race went. Also, some of the other girls on the team ran really well & some of the freshman are really starting to step up which makes me really excited & happy. Personally seeing your hard work pay off is exciting, but it's really rewarding to see that happen to your teammates. Being the last meet before district it was great to have a race we were all happy with. Everyone is really excited for next week and we are all prepared to put in a hard week of training so we're ready. It's kind of bitter/sweet going into my last championship season, but I couldn't be more excited.
