It's been a roller coaster ride for the Marcus XC family over the past 10+ years. I was very lucky to have spent a few days with Marcus in September producing a feature which will air on FloTrack on December 23rd. It's impossible to summarize everything the team, coaches, athletes, and community have been through.
It was years in the making, getting back to where the girls team is right now. It was a perfect storm colliding this season. Coming off 2nd place in 2014, a strong group of seniors in their final season, and Coach Brevard coaching his final XC season. The pressure mounting for this group of young athletes to win a state title was mind blowing. To make it even more difficult, there were so many talented teams in the Texas 6A conference in 2015.
