Top 10 Distance Guys To Know In 2016!

Carter Blunt running at last year's state meet Photo By: Travis Miller

Blunt is coming off an injury which cut his cross county post season short. Before the injury, Blunt was able to get in his 3rd state cross country title running 16:20.50 on the muddy state course. He was undefeated for the entire cross country season. Last year in track he suffered only one in-state loss at the hands of Alex Rogers. Rogers only beat Blunt by a few tenths of a second in the 3200m finals at Texas Relays. Blunt holds the top returning times in both the 1600m (4:10.35) and the 3200m (8:57.01). He set the state 5A record last year in the 3200m with his 9:02.98 performance. The UCLA commit holds the only returning 3200m time under 9:00 minutes (his 8:57.01) in the entire state, hopefully, this year more guys will join him in the sub 9 club.
