Ashton Endsley took the win in the Mile at Flo Golden South to punch her ticket to the Brooks PR invitational. Endsley went out somewhat reserved through the first lap letting the pack set the pace. At the 800m mark, she had moved into the lead.
With one lap to go 44 time Lousiana State champion Gabrielle Jennings made a hard push and started to open up a gap with 300m to go. Endsley didn't give up hope. At the 200m mark, she started to close down the gap. With 150m to go she really kicked it in and pulled off the pass, and from that point on the race was all Endsley's. She took the win running 4:54.39. Jennings finished in 4:58.39.
Texas also had two competitors in the Boys mile with Matthew McClellan and William Hunsdale both who finished in the top five. We will give you more updates when official results are available.
