Salute to Seniors: Seth Page

Athlete Seth Page

School: Fort Bend Elkins

1. What was your most memorable race/moment?
My most memorable moment of the year was defiantly when I double PRed this year at the district meet. After just beginning to run track I really enjoyed my first time drop, it felt great

2. Who would you consider your biggest competition over your past four years?
My biggest competition had to be my bro Shamon Ehiemua, every time we raced he really pushed me to run my hardest.

3. What was your greatest accomplishment?
I think my greatest accomplishment was signing to run track at Texas A&M, I always thought I would go to college in my main sport(baseball) but after taking track seriously for just one year I was blessed enough to get the attention of coach Henry and coach Anderson over at A&M and landed a spot on the team

4. If you could do it all over again what would you do to change your running career?
If I could do it over again I would have did track all four years instead of just my senior year. I think I really missed out on a lot in this sport and I know I'll do great at the next level.

5. What was the most difficult obstacle for you to overcome?
The most difficult obstacle was watching my friends who had been running track a while and had training under their belt constantly drop their times and win races while I was still slowly progressing because of my late start. I really wanted to get the results I wanted and it was hard for me to stay focused on me and my training to get where I wanted  to be.

6. What will you miss most?
I will miss the long bus rides and the practices with my high school teammates the most.

7. What advice would you give to younger athletes?
My advice to the younger kids would definitely be to keep your grades up, that is a huge part of running/playing at the next level and keep your body pure of drugs, alcohol and other things That shouldn't be in there, take care of your body

8. What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and your life goal?

My Coach has really molded me into the young man I have become today, he has taught me so much when it comes to being a person that I see him as a second dad. Along with teaching me hard work and how to be great at my sport he also really helped me learn how to be a better person overall

9. What are your college plans?
I will be Attending Texas A&M University in the fall to run track and study Construction science

10. Who would you like to say thank you to?
I would like to thank my family, my coaches, and the A&M coaching staff for giving me a chance to showcase my talent at the next level.

11. Is there anything you want to add?
Seth Page is a name you WILL be hearing a lot about in the near future, Gig Em'

12. What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?
Watching my coach try to get out of the blocks for the first time in 30 years had to be the funniest thing of the year.
