17-18-year-old Boys Shot Put

Why: Steven Daboub is the top ranked shot put thrower entered for Region 19. He's thrown 63-6 this year in the shot put at the Region 2-6A Meet and was a AAU Junior Olympic Games last year. He's also entered in the Discus at 145-03, however he threw 167-9 at the Region 2-6A Meet.


15-16-year-old Boys 100m

Who: Davion Brynaum

Why: Davion Brynaum has the fastest seed time out of anyone in Region 19 with a seed time of 10.90. He also hold the top seed time for the 15-16 year old boys 200 at 22.40, which is the 3rd fastest in Region 19.


13-year-old Girls 200m

Who: Autumn Wilson

Why: 13-year old Autumn Wilson is the athlete to watch out for her age group. She has the top seed time in the 100m with 12.84, the 200m with 25.74 and the long jump with 17-01.


17-18 Girls Long Jump and Triple Jump

Who: Alexandria Madlock

Why: Alexandria Madlock is the clear favorite for the ages 17-18 girls long and triple jumps. She jumped 19-06.00 for the long jump and 41-01.25 for triple jump, both performances coming from the Great Southwest Classic. Another name to watch for the ages 17-18 girls long jump is Megan Kirby, who holds a personal-best of 18-04 and a season-best of 18-03.


14-year-old Girls Discus and Shot Put

Who: Zoe Burleson

Why: The athlete of the entire meet could possibly be seen at the age 14 girls discus and shot put and her name is Zoe Burleson. She holds three AAU Junior Olympic Games records: the 11 year old girls shot put (40-05.75), the 13 year old girls discus throw (138-10), and the 13 year old girls shot put (49-07), with the latter two set last year. The 14 year old girls shot put record is 52-08.25 and the 14 year old girls discus record is 138-06, both are in serious jeopardy of being broken this weekend.
