Aaliyah Miller, Adrian Piperi Advance to Next Round at World U20 Championships
Future Baylor Bear Aaliyah Miller ran a 2:08.21 to qualify for the semi-finals in the 800m. This is the sixth time the 6A state record holder has run 2:08 or faster this year. At the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships Miller dominated placing 2nd running 2:02.96. She and fellow American Sammy Watson who also qualified for the semi-finals have the two fastest times coming into the meet both having run 2:02.
Adrian Piper also had a big showing throwing over 64 feet in the shot put. The rising senior has been on fire all year. He's only lost once to Jordan Geist from Pennslvyina at the Iron Wood Throwers Classic. He's coming in hot off the win at the USATF Junior National Outdoor T&F Championships where he threw 66'2.5". He will be moving on to the next round just behind Poland's Konrad Bukowiecki who threw just over 71 feet to qualify in 1st.
