Four Fast Takeaways From The Weekend!

Freshmen Show Force In North Texas

At the South lake Carroll Invitational we witnessed a freshman take the girl's varsity 6A race by storm. That's right a freshman. That freshman was Gracie Morris from Aledo. She ran 18:22.09 for 5K beating the next closest girl by two seconds. Just last weekend at Marcus I she ran finished first in the opened varsity race running 18:53.80. She's won every race she's entered so far this year, and she's not the only one who can run fast in her family.

Her twin brother Graydon Morris also a freshman finished third in the varsity boys 6A race. Both fields had a strong field of runners including several top state and NXN South Region finishers from 2015. They weren't the only freshmen running fast this weekend, though. At the McKinney Boyd meet freshman, London Culbreath from Mckinney North dominated the competition running almost a minute faster than the second-place finisher. Her time of 18:21.91 ranks 3rd out of every girl who ran a 5K this weekend. She also led her team to the team title scoring 41 points.
