Q and A: Liberty Christians Elizabeth Reneau



Elizabeth's post race interview after the Birdville Flyin Hawks Invitational race 

Earlier this week we reached out to Elizabeth Reneau, a Junior from Liberty Christian High School in Argyle, Tx. She runs both the 3200m and the 5K race and excels in both. Read below to see what she said 


Texas MileSplit: What is the biggest challenge you have encountered this Cross Country season and how did you overcome it?

Elizabeth Reneau: The biggest challenge was the Keller race.. this was difficult because I was getting over a cold and half way through the race I rolled my ankle. I pushed myself through and put the race behind me. 

Do you like running the 3200 or the 5K better and why?

The 5k is my favorite because I have more time to settle into the race.

What pushes you to keep running and why?

Running to honor God really pushed me to keep running.

How does it feel to medal at every race you have ran this season?

It is very humbling to have medaled each race this season

What is your favorite course to run on and why?

My favorite course is Chili Pepper because it was a collegiate level course and the start was nice and long. It was a true cross country course. 

What made you start running cross country?

I ran started to run.... when I played select soccer and when I started middle school I started to run track. 

What does a typical week of training look like for you?

A typical week looks like a long run Monday, Quality, easy run, Quality, off, and then race day on Saturday... Sundays I will easy run or bike

Have you started looking at colleges yet, and if so what schools are you looking at and why?

I have started to look at colleges (not in order) Duke, Rice, Texas, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Wake Forest 

Who is your favorite superhero and why?

My favorite superhero is superman because I would love to fly.
