Jasmine Moore 5A Triple Jump - 42'1.75 Freshman Nat'l Record
Watch out for this track star as she makes her sophomore debut. Last year, Jasmine Moore broke onto the jumping scene as one of the best in the country as only a freshman! Each week she held her own aginst some of the best upperclassmen in the country, including Samiyah Samuels and Essence Thomas. Her only triple jump loss during the regular high school season came from future Georgia Bulldog Tara Davis from Agoura High School in California. The two faced off at the Texas Relays last year in an epic battle in which Davis edged out Moore 43-02.00 to 40-03.00. Moore will be the defending state 5A champion in both the long jump and triple jump come this spring. It will be exciting to watch her this weekend as she's set for a big season after last year's major victories and freshman national record performance. We could very well see a new indoor U.S. No. 1 mark from Moore this weekend in both the triple and long jumps.
