TTFCA Hall of Fame Ceremony

Courtney Okolo Collegiate Female Athlete of the Year Interview

Last night, the TTFCA Hosted their 13th annual Texas Track Coaches Clinic, which included their 7th annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. At the ceremony, they honor an exceptional selection of individuals who have made an extraordinary impact on Texas Track. They also honored a selection of Athletes of the Year and Coaches of the Year. The Athletes were selected based off of their performances, and the coaches were chosen by how well their teams performed.

Not all of the honorees were able to attend the ceremony due to the poor road conditions. Those who were able to attend, though, were very gracious. Those who attended the event had the ability to hear from some very great speakers, ranging from former McMurry  University Track and Feild Coach,  Barbra Crousen, who momentarily turned the Ceremony into a comedy club, to 4x400 Rio Olympian Courtney Okolo. We also got to hear from family and friends of the TTFCA Hall of Fame Class of 2017 Inductees. They told stories that you do not normally hear about the inductees. They told us how they are when they are not on the track. The stories ranged from silly conversations to mottos they lived by. One big takeaway is something David Noble told his athletes. He always told his athletes that you only get to live each day once, so you need to make the most of it. If you are training, you need to train your hardest, or if you are at a meet, you need to give it 100% effort because you will only get once chance.

The TTFCA ran an awesome event this year and those who had the ability to attend got to see history in the making. Thank you to the TTFCA for being gracious hosts and running a great event.
