Jasmine Moore
Will the State record go down this year? Luling's Ychlindria Spears still holds the record from 2001 with her 44-2.25 performance. It's been standing for 16 years. That's almost before Jasmine Moore was born. Who is Jasmine Moore? Moore will lead a contingency of girls who will be eying Spears' mark from 2001. Just a sophomore, Moore is already a two time state champion. As a freshman, she won both the 5A Long Jump and the 5A Triple Jump last year. She is off to a great start to the season with her US #1 jump from the Texas A&M HS Inv. In the first meet of the season, Moore jumped 42-3.25. Keep an eye on her all season.
Valencia Bullock
Moore isn't the only jumper in the top of the state ranks at her school. Her Mansfield Lake Ridge teammate, Valencia Bullock is also a jumper with serious hops. Bullock, a senior, is a 39 footer with her -39-7.75 PR. Look for Bullock to give her best effort to get to state and medal.
