The 2017 Texas high school track season was amazing! The teams, athletes, and coaches gave their opposition and the fans a heck of a show. All across the board there were big time performers. Some we expected, some we didn't, and some we didn't even know because they just got to high school this year.

The teams on the girls side like Mesquite Horn, Lancaster, Mansfield Lake Ridge, Cy Springs, DeSoto, and McKinney North gave us the team battles of the year. Heck, Houston Lamar racked up enough points to place second with only two girls! On the boys side, some usual players like Manvel, DeSoto, and Ft Bend Marshall all battled and had to make room for teams like The Woodlands who showed they are the complete team, and trust me do not say The Woodlands aren't a sprint team around Coach Hamilton!

Individually, we were all treated to some of the best female athletes in the nation. There were outstanding performances by KAYLOR HARRIS, SHA'CARRI RICHARDSONJULIA HEYMACHGRACIE MORRISLONDON CULBREATHCOLLEEN CLANCYJASMINE MOORE, and KYNNEDY FLANNEL. Then on the boys side, there was JALEN REAGORKALON BARNESKARY VINCENT JRSEAN HOOPERJALEN SEALSADRIAN PIPERIGABE OLADIPOCHARLES BROCKMAN IIISAM WORLEYand REED BROWN.

So everybody knows those names and what they were able to accomplish. However, there were a lot of underlying and talented teams and athletes in the wings waiting for their time to mature, improve, and shine. Flip through the pages and see who could be the next to join other returning stars of Texas high school track and field.
