Last year, the McNeil Invitational gold race in Texas was the first time Alex Maier (TX) and Sam Worley (TX) went head to head in the season. The race is one of the biggest in the Texas cross country season because it's on the state meet course. Last year, Worley beat Maier but only by around two seconds. Maier will be looking for the win this year, as he is the favorite in the race, ranked Flo50 No. 3.
