Boys Teams Of The Year Poll Results

Checkout the poll results for the teams of the year votes. See which teams were able to generate enough fan votes. Every team on this list had awesome 2017 cross country seasons. The winners were not chosen by anyone at MileSplit, but by the popularity vote of the fans that voted.

The Grapevine boys clearly vote well. They've out voted many teams in the past couple of polls. However, they also ran well this season, so why not get out and vote to the level they run at.

Boys Cross Country Teams Of The Year Honors (5A - 6A)


The Grapevine boys clearly vote well. They've out voted many teams in the past couple of polls. However, they also ran well this season, so why not get out and vote to the level they run at.

This season, Grapevine ran to a second place finish at the UIL 5A state championships. They also finished the season well at NXR South and Foot Locker South. They win the popularity vote for 5A-6A team of the year with 1,078 votes for 53.45% of the vote.


Boys Cross Country Teams Of The Year Honors (UIL 1A - 4A) 


In the 1A - 4A boys poll, we have two teams of the year and they are the 1A champion Miller Grove boys and the San Elizario boys. 
Miller Grove was able to run their way back to the top of the awards stand as they took the 2017 state title. They jumped up two spots from their 2016 third place finish in outstanding team of the year form.
Speaking of back to the top, San Elizario was back for the fourth consecutive year in 4A. They dominated their races all season long and saddled up for a solid push from Progresso at the state championship.

Boys Cross Country Teams Of The Year Honors (Private, Parochial, College Prep


If any poll was ever dominated it was this one. The guys from Austin St. Stephens tore through SPC as was expected and tore through this poll as well.

St. Stephens won the popularity poll with 1,030 votes for nearly 75% of the votes.



Boys Most Improved 


The most improved boys results were CLOSE!!! With over 14,000 votes for the entire poll, Great Hearts Monte Vista and Springlake Earth battled down to the last hour. GHMV out of San Antonio is a fairly new school, but that didn't stop them from getting a jump in their cross country program and in this poll. 

With over 4,7000 votes, they take the most improved title for 2017. They made the awards stand this year with their runner-up finish in 2A behind repeat boys champs Sundown.
