The Wings Track Club broke their own meet record in the 4x800 relay

Several records were broken this weekend at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic including two in the field. Northwest Flyers high jumper Annika Williams set a new meet record in with her 5-9.25 jump. 

On the boys side, Nebraska high jumper Conner Mayson was not to be outdone. He broke the boys high jump record with his 7-0.25 win.

Bailey Lear Breaks Her Own 400m Meet Record

Earlier in the week, Bailey Lear told TX MileSplit that she is ready to run varsity track again and that she wants to break records and do something special this season. Well, she is off to a good start as she broke the meet record in the girls 400m dash. That record happened to be her own record, but after watching it almost fall last year she lowered her record to a very fast 54.89.

South Austin Steel Takes Down Girls 4x800 Record

The girls from South Austin Steel took down the record set just last year. They took the lead on the first leg and never looked back opening up their lead more and more each leg. Their fastest split of the relay came on second leg with the 2:19.34 as the ran 9:32.82.

The Wings Break Their Own Meet Record From Last Year

Last year, The Wings Track Club led four teams under 8:00 as they ran a meet record 7:55.52. This year, they were the only team under 8:00 as they lowered that meet record with a 7:54.86. Three of their legs split under 2:00 with the fastest leg running 1:57.29.

Eric Edwards Runs 7.78 Breaks 60m hurdle 

Houston Langham Creek senior Eric Edwards blasted out of the starting blocks in the 60m hurdles and never looked back. Edwards ran a personal best and a meet record of 7.78. The thing to watch now is how fast can Edwards run this indoor season.

Georgia Star Brian Herron Runs 21.06 in 200m Prelims

Brian Herron has already run under 21.0 last week, and he was right back at it on Friday night. Herron broke the five year old record as he blazed around the Texas A&M track in 21.06 adding another elite time to his young season.
