Winsday Boys Spotlight: Lancaster Boys Run Top Relay Times

The 2018 track and field season is now in full swing. That means it's time to really consistently acknowledge the outstanding performances as the season continues to progress.

That brings us to the Winsday Spotlight. Each Wednesday, we will highlight some of the deserving teams or individuals that keep driving the 2018 track and field season forward.

This week we shine the spotlight on the Lancaster boys program.

Like every team in high school, the Lancaster program has been heavily affected by graduation. Graduation has gradually but consistently taken elite runners from Lancaster. However, they keep developing their athletes and the train keeps moving along.

Last year, Jordan Hollis was the leader of the team, but he is now at Purdue University shining bright. Junior Tylin Jackson is one of the guys who has taken over leadership at Lancaster. Jackson and rest of the team have picked things up on the track where the team left off last season.

Lancaster currently leads Texas in the 4x100 relay. They are slightly ahead of some Texas perennial sprint programs including 2017s history making Port Arthur Memorial who is also off to an outstanding start. Last weekend, Lancaster ran the #1 time in the state at the DeSoto Nike Invitational when they ran a 41.12.

Lancaster also has one of the top 4x200 relays. In fact, they trail Port Arthur Memorial's 1:26.39 top time by a hair with a 1:26.40 of their own.

Jackson sits among the state's top 200m sprinters with his 21.73 in the event.

Watch out for Lancaster as they get faster and get in the mix with some of the best competition in the state. They will likely hit their typical yearly tour of meets in the Lancaster Meet of Champions, Texas Southern Relays, Jesuit Sheaner Relays, and Texas Relays.

Watch as Lancaster aka WEBO Nation go deep cover from the Tigers to that Orange and Black streak blazing down the track.
