Big Sprints, Distance, Throws, And Jumps At Great American


The Great American Track & Field Classic just completed it's first year in existence and if the marks from year one are any indication of the future, then watch out!

In the future, as states start sending their best to represent their state teams, the times and distances could only get faster, farther, higher, and better.

Check out some of the top performances from the Texas athletes:

Ashton O'Connor (Jr.) - Houston Lamar - The UIL 6A 5th place finisher in the 200m recorded sprint double with wins in both the 100m (10.48) and 200m (21.25).

Keishawn Everyly (Sr.) - Fort Worth Trimble Tech- Ran 21.25 in the 200m prelims.

Sebastian Cooper (Jr.) - Cypress Woods - Wins the 400m in 48.14 (47.67 prelims)

DJ Henderson (Sr.) - DeSoto - The UIL 2nd place finisher in the long jump and winner with a 7.25 (23'79") jump.

Rajer Gurode (Fr.) - Bryan - The UIL 5A 4th place finisher in the 100m won with a 11.83.

Krianne McBride (13 y.o.) Texas Thunder TC - The AAU Junior Olympic Games 3,000m national record holder for 12 y.o. won the 1500m (5:14.27)and 3,000m (11:51.74).

Emily Wilson - (Sr.) - SA St. Mary's Hall - The Princeton signee and 2018 Texas Relays javelin throw champ won with a 38.62 (126'71") throw.

Sanaa Barnes (Sr.) Northwest Nelson - The UIL 6A 2017 champ and 2018 2nd place finisher in high jump won with a 5-8 jump.

Sametria Smith (Sr.) - Midland - The UIL 6A long jump 2nd place finisher and winner with a 5.91m (19'39") jump.

Symone Washington (Sr.) Round Rock Stony Point - The UIL 6A 4th place finisher in the triple jump won with a 39'3" jump.
