The senior girls below are heading into their fourth and final high school season. They have been hitting the Texas cross country courses for the last three seasons. There has been a lot made of the young talent throughout the state, but that's not to forget about the experienced runners in the state. With one more go around remaining, it is the moment to focus on the upperclass girls.
The top 20 returning seniors have all ran under 18:30 for the 5K distance during their junior season. The difference column represents their progression from freshman year to their sophomore season.
The majority of the senior class has made great strides over the last three seasons. Some of the gains are as big as two to three minutes including a whopping 3:59.05 jump from 2015 to 2016 for Lake Highlands senior Ava Peeples. If that wasn't impressive enough, Peeples lowered her time even further by nearly 38 seconds in her junior season. Check out the senior girls on the list and see how much we should be looking forward to seeing them improve during their senior season.
